ReVerse - Stargate SG-1 (Fanfiction) - Part 1

"Unscheduled Off World Activation, General Landry to the Control Room." Walter said into the microphone in front of him.  He placed his hand on the scanner to activate and close the Iris protecting the Gate Room from any unwelcome visitors.  These days most of the visitors were unwelcome. "I'm here Walter, no need to send a search party." General Landry said from behind Walter.  "I thought you had gone to lunch sir." replied Walter.  At that moment two loud bangs were heard so loud in fact that the glass between the Control Room and the Gate Room visibly wobbled in its frame. "Walter what was that?" General Landry asked, "I'm not sure sir, according to the sensors on the Iris there were two impacts." replied Walter.

The lights in the Control Room started dim and then flicker, the wormhole disengaged from the Stargate.  "Well the Enemy was at..." General Landry started say when all the lights went off.  "Wormhole disengaged General." Walter put in, "I am aware of that Walter why do you always tell me things that just happened, why are the lights off?" General Landry asked in an annoyed voice.  "Looks we have a massive power drain on all systems sir." Walter answered avoiding the first question.  "Hell, get Carter up here.  Probably best to get all of the SG-1 up here on the double.  Wait a second what is that red shimmer just in front of Stargate, do you seen that?" Walter looked down at the Stargate and there was an shimmer as the General said like you would see on a hot day, he could also make out hints of black and white.

Major Samantha Carter came into the Control Room, "What's happening?" she asked in an amazingly innocent but intelligent voice.  Before General Landry could answer, the lights came on and standing on the gantry walk way to the Stargate there appeared to be a man standing there. Wearing a red shirt, black leather trousers, black waistcoat, dark red wide brimmed hat and some curious white shoes. "Well he looks interesting." Sam said.  General Landry and Walter looked at each other with a knowing look.

Jay looked about the Gate Room and noticed the flags in each of the corners. 'Well that's different, its going to be one of those missions,' he thought.  He turned his attention to the men in green camo fatigues, "Really guys, why are you wearing green in what appears to be a concrete underground complex?" Jay said.  The men just stared at him with their guns pointed at him.  "Okay I've always wanted to say this.  Take me to your leader."  General Landry's voice boomed into the Gate Room, "Check him for weapons and then bring him to briefing room."

Back in the Control Room General Landry turned to Sam, "Get the rest of the team up here on the double, lets find out who this man is.  Maybe you will get to play with him later." General gave Sam a wink.

Jay was escorted into the briefing room, he noticed the added decorations on the wall plus the brown, white and black flag in the corner. 'Nothing is ever easy with these missions,' he thought.  General Landry and Major Samantha Carter were sat at the conference table, "Just who are you meant to be young man?" General Landry asked.  'Young man! Oh! If only he knew.' Jay rolled his eyes at the comment. "Well I see one of the SG-1 team but where are the rest?  I do hate to repeat myself.  We should wait.  Perhaps you can tell me why the brown uniforms?" Jay said in deep voice but quiet voice that seem to bounce round the room. 'No harm in applying a little extra charisma, they need to trust me after all.' Jay reasoned.  Both the General and Major looked confused at his question so Jay let it drop for the time being.

There was a brief wait then Cameron Mitchell and Vala Mal Doran entered the room. "Now all the team is present, it is time you told us who you are.  My patience is wearing thin!" General Landry said with obvious annoyance. "But where is Daniel Jackson and Teal'C?" Jay said.  Cameron interjected before the General could speak, "Never heard of those two, who are they?"  Jay thought for a moment, 'I need more information, lets see where we are shall we.' "Daniel Jackson is an archaeologist with glasses and allergies, Teal'C a Jaffa warrior.  Not ringing any bells?" Jay asked.  Cameron looked absolutely aghast at the mention of a Jaffa, "Not members of my team.  Now answer the General's question."

'Oh Well! I best take the plunge, hopefully it will all work out in the end.  It normally does.' Jay thought.  "I am Captain Jay Scarlet at your service, it is my first time in your Verse and I must admit it is a bit different to what I heard." Sam jumped in, "Verse?" "Universe my dear lady, the other MVAs gave me a much different picture, very curious indeed." General Landry finally got a word in, "MVAs?" "MultiVerse Agent General, now we done the basics perhaps we can get on with why I am here." Jay said. "Back up a bit, what exactly is a Multiverse agent?" General asked.  "Really General there bigger issues at stake." Jay replied.  "Humour us!" the General intoned back.

"Fine!  Have you met ascended beings yet?" Jay asked with a boring look upon his extremely handsome yet boyish face his blue eyes starring deep into Sam's. Cameron answered, "Yes we have but what has..." Jay cut him off and continued, "Okay so ascended beings normally come in two flavours. Either they are a self-righteous bunch that think the lower physical planes have nothing to do with them or you have the Evil ones that think because they've ascended therefore they should be treated as Gods and worshiped by the lower planes.  Judging by delayed arrival I would say the ones in this galaxy don't like not knowing who I am.  Now there are planes of existence well above these beings who think they know everything but they have barely scratched the surface of existence." Sam interrupted this time, "Your talking about alternate realities." 'Such a pretty face too what a shame.' Jay thought.

"No not alternate realities.  There are different Meta-Verses each with their own set of physical laws and each Meta-Verse is host to an infinite number of alternate realities.  In planes well above your ascending beings are well things you would not them to notice anyone down here on the physical planes.  And right at the top are the TPTB."  For the first time Vala joined the conversation which was unusual since she normally does not stop talking, "TPTB?"  "The Powers That Be, at least that is what most of us agents call them.  They recruited me from the first Meta-Verse, well that is to be proven no actual direct evidence other than the time-dilation." Jay said.  General Landry was obviously getting annoyed, "What the Hell are you talking about!' he practically shouted from the other end of the conference table.  "Easy General, relax.  It is quite simple really in my home Verse time runs very slowly compared to all the Verses.  One second at home is like a thousand years anywhere else.  That's where most of MVAs come from,  so are we all up to speed with what a MVA is?" Jay said with a cheeky smile mostly aimed at Sam.

"No, but it will have to do for now.  Why are you here?" General Landry said with an obvious lack of calm.  "To stop your solar system from being destroyed, it will happen err, what time is it now?" Jay asked, Sam replied, "17:00hrs."  "Well that is fortunate, your doom will befall you in 27 hours exactly." Jay said.
